Dr. Patricia Parker
Veterinarian
Dr. Parker is a native Houstonian, but through her child-hood she lived in Oklahoma, Missouri, Delaware, California and Athens, Greece before coming back home to Texas. She graduated from Bellaire High School and began her college education at the University of Houston. She completed her first Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University in 1980, and the second degree in Veterinary Science in 1983. Dr. Parker received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1985.
Dr. Parker worked at M.D. Anderson in the division of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery for family pet cancer treatment. She also spent an internship rotation at the San Antonio Zoo. Dr. Parker practiced small and large animal medicine for 2 years in Katy, Texas, and spent over 13 years in Friendswood treating small animals, birds and pocket pets. Dr. Parker participated in clinical field trial studies for FDA approval for a veterinary drug for Cushing's disease in dogs. She also participated in embryo transfer work in African Borer goats as well as artificial insemination in dogs.
Dr. Parker joined Dr. Runge and became a partner in August of 2000. In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Parker enjoys golfing and fishing. She is an active member of her church and community, providing health care at church pet fairs and participating in career day seminars at many schools.
She is devoted to her family and practice. Her compassion and bedside manner will be evident when you meet her.
